Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening involves the removal of gum tissue and/or bone to expose more of a tooth’s structure. Crown lengthening may be indicated if your general dentist is unable to access part of your tooth that has decayed. Crown lengthening is also done for aesthetic purposes to reduce the look of a “gummy smile”. This is a minimally invasive procedure and typically heals within six weeks.
